My suggestion – try another Home Depot – or better yet, a local retailer.
This is hands down, the nicest HD in the area. The store is clean and well ordered. The staff is polite and friendly. There are never long lines. There are no BS security stops. The products are all the same, it's HD after all. It's the store that's great.
I asked to see the manager, indicated I was not getting any help – needed as I have a heart condition – and both the female store manager and Bill smirked. She said thank you for bringing it to my attention – they laughed and began to walk away – one saying I should have a heart attack.
I like this store. It's Home Depot so, yes it is still hard to get help, but this store has a lot more product options than most. This is definitely bigger. I go here (out of my way) when I can. Literally the biggest Home Depot I've ever seen compared against Long Island/NYC area/Connecticut. Best rating I can give for Home Depot, because they still lack a bit in the customer service area throughout all the store 4 stars.
While most Home depots are mediocre at best, this one pales in comparison. Selection of key home improvement items are often out of stock or up high needing a fork lift to retrieve them. Being a professional I know what I want, how I want and where to look so I don't usually need customer assistance but when I do it's funny how uninformed they are. I find HD concentrates heavily on selling holiday decorations months before the holiday. Now, I see a weird combination of Halloween decorations( lots and lots) with slashed prices as they haven't sold and piles of Christmas decorations taking up a high percentage of floor and shelf space. Today I wanted lawn soil...the rack where the soil usually sits and most of the garden department was empty. I asked the associate where it was and his response was "we're all out of brown bagged"...I repeated "Lawn Soil"...he said "that's what I said, we're out of Brown bagged" I shook my head and put my shopping cart high up on a shelf with some plants...just to add to the crazy HD day :)
Went to Home Depot to purchase a Christmas tree. I found one and asked Bill to help. He told me I had to bring it up. He was chatting away with what appeared to be a friend – way to busy to help. I struggled to get it there. He had me wait a fair amount of time until his friend left – then he wrapped and cut the tree. He then told me to bring it to the cash register myself. I asked for help and he said there were people outside to help (there was no one around). The cashier then asked him to help me and he responded in a condescending tone, badmouthing the poor woman.
Delightful ambiance to take my spouse out on a date, no cash required you can look around dream of what your home may become...don't get that at the local red Robin.
